.Gusty northwest winds behind a recently passed cold front will
continue to usher in some of the coldest air of the season so far
across region. Winds will die down this afternoon into night, as
cold high pressure settles over the forecast area. The light winds
and expected clear skies will result in cold temperatures for
early Monday morning.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued
a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to
10 AM EDT Monday. The Wind Advisory has been cancelled.
* LOCATIONS...The mountains of North Carolina, including the
high elevations of the northern foothills.
* HAZARDS...Freezing temperatures.
* TIMING...Tonight into early Monday.
* TEMPERATURES...Lows in the lower 30s.
* IMPACTS...Freezing temperatures could kill sensitive
vegetation and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Gusty
winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be
blown down and a few power outages may result.
